چکیده

In a series of papers we have applied several sum rules and forward dispersion relations, to ππ scattering. We have found that some widely used data sets fail to satisfy these constraints, and we have provided an amplitude that describes data consistently with the dispersive tests. Furthermore, we noted that the input and precision claimed in a Roy equation analysis by Colangelo, Gasser and Leutwyler (CGL), lead to several mismatches with some sum rules. Subsequently, Caprini, Colangelo, Gasser and Leutwyler claimed that our Regge parametrization was incorrect. We collect here the answers to their various claims, and try to clarify the points of agreement and disagreement, showing experimental evidence that substantiates our results, and that, in addition, their representation fails to satisfy all three forward dispersion relations up to √ s ≤ 800 MeV by several standard deviations.

The scalar-isoscalar, scalar-isotensor and vector-isovector ππ amplitudes have been fitted simultaneously to experimental data and to to Roy’s equations. Resulting ππ phase shifts up to 1600 MeV and near threshold observables have been analyzed. Only the amplitudes fitted to the ”down-flat” set of phase shifts in scalarisoscalar wave fulfill crossing symmetry conditions and can be regarded as p...

Dispersive approaches provide model independent description of meson-meson scattering. We first review here the use of dispersion relations to obtain a model independent unitarization of Chiral Perturbation Theory amplitudes, that establish the existence of light scalar mesons and whose leading 1/Nc behavior suggest they ahve a non q̄q dominant component. We also review the forward dispersion re...

We compute the 1-loop (NNLO) corrections to hard spectator-scattering in tree-dominated hadronic B decays. Depending on the values of hadronic input parameters the corrections are shown to have a significant impact on the B → ππ branching fractions.

We investigate the dispersive contribution by radiative processes such as πp → nγ and πp → ∆γ to the πN scattering lengths of charged pions in the heavy baryon limit. They give a large isospin violating contribution in the corresponding isoscalar scattering length, but only a small violation in the isovector one. These terms contribute 6.3(3)% to the 1s level shift of pionic hydrogen and give a...

I calculate the leading logarithmic contributions up to two-loop order of the octet part of the K0 → ππ amplitude. This sector of the weak chiral Lagrangian is believed to be the main source of the enhancement of the I = 0 relative to the I = 2 K0 → ππ amplitude, the so-called ∆I = 1/2 rule. I discuss the procedure of chiral extrapolations of lattice data specific to K → ππ decays and study the...
